Christmas Traditions - Collecting Ornaments

This month, I've been blogging about favorite Christmas traditions in our family. Ever since our first daughter was born, we've collected a new set of ornaments for our tree, usually in a set of 3--one for each daughter, and if possible, they will match the color of their birthstones. Some of our favorites are a set of cowboy boots and a set of china teapots.

We also collect snowmen and bells . . .

And angels in all shapes and sizes.

Our newest addition is this Jim Shore Angel. Isn't she lovely? Do you have a special ornament collection for your tree? Please share with us below.

  1. My tree I call a Memory tree. All the ornaments have a story. Some I made when I was in 20s and I am over 60. Some were given me by children I taught at church, family, friends, and this year even an author.
My daughters are carrying on the tradition in their homes.
My girls have on my tree pictures of them in 1st grade - both different - that they made in school. There is a picture of my first born in an ornament I got when she was born from hospital. I have ornaments kids made in school when they were young. I have a whole ceramic village done by my husband and two daughters - all hand painted. Only pieces I want are those they made. They used to paint me some people or village piece every year as gifts. They would buy them after Christmas for next years gift.
